Cadillac has announced that the fourth-generation Cadillac Escalade, expected to be launched in Europe toward the end of the year, will go on sale at prices starting from €94,500 in Germany*.
Featuring a bold, entirely new yet instantly recognizable design, the Escalade establishes new benchmarks for hand-tailored craftsmanship and technology. For the first time, the premium SUV will also be available as an extended-length version (ELV) in Europe.
“The Escalade is the pinnacle of the Cadillac portfolio and will once again prove to be extremely desirable among premium SUV buyers,” said Thomas Sedran, President and Managing Director, Cadillac and Chevrolet Europe.
Offered exclusively with an AWD drivetrain, Cadillac’s most prestigious and signature SUV boasts a new 6.2L V-8 engine rated at an SAE-certified 420hp (313 kW) and with a peak torque of 621 Nm, five respectively 10 percent more than its predecessor.
State-of-the-art technologies include Active Fuel Management, which deactivates cylinders depending on the operating conditions, and more precisely controlled combustion enabling the Escalade to run at a higher combustion ratio. Both features contribute to deliver more power with greater efficiency. Magnetic Ride Control, the world’s fastest-reacting suspension system that ‘reads’ the road every millisecond, comes as standard.
Hand-crafted elegance in motion
The exterior features crisp sophisticated surfaces, accented by dramatic lighting. The headlamps incorporate the industry’s first Total Internal Reflection LED high-beam function, which consists of four vertically stacked crystal lenses and LEDs.
New inlaid doors fit into the body, significantly reducing wind noise and improving aerodynamics.
Real wood combined with premium cut-and-sewn materials and sueded accents, along with ambient lighting, were designed to add elegance and authenticity to the interior. Tight tolerances of the instrument panel as well as the door panels, precision controls and triple-sealed doors all contribute to reinforce the subtle feeling of quality.
Seats were engineered to be more comfortable and sculptured in appearance. The interior is dramatically quieter thanks to a stronger new body structure, new and enhanced acoustic material and Bose® Active Noise Cancellation technology. The third row of seats can be folded completely flat at the touch of a button. With the 3rd and 2nd seat rows folded down, the new Escalade offers the biggest trunk space of all SUVs.
The 2015 Escalade also presents the first-ever front seat center-mounted air bag aimed at providing additional protection to drivers and front passengers in far-side impact crashes, where the occupant is on the opposite, non-struck side of the vehicle.
The Escalade Platinum Collection is also designed to provide passengers with unsurpassed comfort and convenience. Heated and cooled 18-way power front seats are standard, and include a massaging function on the driver’s seat. A pair of 7″ LCD screens, embedded in the front head rests supplement the overhead 9″ screen, while a cooled center console compartment can keep beverages chilled. Escalade Platinum models ride on 22-inch wheels and are distinguished by chrome accents, specific exterior badging, and a unique grille mesh design.
All models come equipped with a Surround View 360-degree camera system to help increase visibility and wear the new, streamlined Cadillac crest.
